The Nov. 26th issue, largely focused on driving, came out just in time for Older Driver Safety Awareness Week.
If I were still working outpatient I would be speaking to my supervisor about purchasing the OT-DORA: Occupational Therapy Driver Off-Road Assessment Battery (pg. 3). I could not believe how often driving came up with clients, and I found myself relying heavily on an assessment the therapist before me had created.
I also enjoyed the article "Going Global in Guatemala" about Washington University Occupational Therapy's service programs in Guatemala. When I was dreaming about places I could work while in school I wish that I had known about Transitions (a wheelchair producer) and ANINI (an orphanage)- two places where the Wash U students visited.
