Cody Lee
Bio
Cody Lee, PT, DPT, is an orthopedic physical therapist practicing in southeast Alabama who bridges clinical excellence with innovative technology solutions. As Co-Chair of the Alabama APTA Membership Committee, he advocates for evidence-informed care while exploring how AI tools can enhance clinical decision-making and research synthesis without replacing clinical judgment.
Drawing from his background across multiple healthcare roles, from rehabilitation technician to access specialist to practicing clinician, Cody brings a systems perspective to physical therapy practice. This experience has shaped his understanding of how technology can address real challenges facing modern practitioners: documentation burden, research overload, and the need to demonstrate value-based outcomes.
As the creator of "AI for PTs," Cody has developed an educational program teaching physical therapists to safely and ethically integrate AI tools like Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini into their clinical workflows. His approach emphasizes that AI should amplify clinical reasoning rather than replace it, helping practitioners save time on administrative tasks while staying current with evidence-based practice.
Cody specializes in chronic pain management using an integrated biopsychosocial approach and focuses on helping early-career clinicians navigate complex healthcare systems. He has particular interest in value-based care models that balance clinical excellence with operational efficiency.
Through his course and content, Cody demonstrates how thoughtful technology adoption can enhance clinical practice while keeping patient care at the center.
