Pelvic Floor Impact Questionnaire (PFIQ-7)
What It Measures
The PFIQ-7 is the companion to the PFDI-20, and it asks the other half of the question. Not what symptoms a woman has, but what those symptoms have stopped her doing.
Each of seven areas is asked about three times — once for bladder symptoms, once for bowel symptoms, once for vaginal or pelvic symptoms — giving twenty-one items in total. The areas cover household chores, physical activity, entertainment outside the home, travel over 30 minutes, social activities, emotional health, and feeling frustrated. Responses run from not at all to quite a bit. Each of the three symptom areas scores 0 to 100 and they sum to a total out of 300, where higher means greater impact.
