Possibilities for Activity Scale
What It Measures
The PActS asks an older adult what they believe someone like them should and could be doing. Not what they can physically manage, but what they think is available to a person of their age and diagnosis — because those beliefs shape participation as much as ability does.
Fourteen items split into two factors. Activity expectations ask how much the person believes someone of their age and diagnosis should be involved in each kind of activity — creative pursuits, spiritual activities, getting around town, communicating with others, physical exercise, keeping up with media. Activity self-efficacy asks how confident they are that they themselves could do those things. Each is rated from very little to quite a lot.
