Full OT/OTA CEU Requirements in Connecticut
Here are the occupational therapy continuing education requirements for coursework in Connecticut.
From the Connecticut Department of Public Health website:
Pursuant to Connecticut General Statutes and the Regulations of Connecticut State Agencies, each licensee applying for license renewal shall complete a minimum of 24 contact hours of qualifying continued competency activity during the preceding two-year period for which the license is being renewed. A contact hour is a minimum of 50 minutes of continued competency activity.
And from the Connecticut administrative code chapter 376a:
Sec. 20-74h. License renewal. Training or education requirement.
The commissioner shall establish additional requirements for licensure renewal which provide evidence of continued competency, which, on and after January 1, 2022, shall include not less than two hours of training or education, offered or approved by the Connecticut Occupational Therapy Association, a hospital or other licensed health care institution or a regionally accredited institution of higher education, on (1) screening for post-traumatic stress disorder, risk of suicide, depression and grief, and (2) suicide prevention training during the first renewal period and not less than once every six years thereafter. The requirement described in subdivision (2) of this section may be satisfied by the completion of the evidence-based youth suicide prevention training program administered pursuant to section 17a-52a.
I recommend you read the rules in full.
