Alicia Kollmar

I have been an occupational therapist since 2000 and have been in North Carolina since 2006. I have worked with children for most of my career, primarily in schools. I’m an OT “nerd”, always keeping up with research and learning new ways to support parents and children. I believe that children will do well when they can and am inspired by work by Ross Greene and Lynn Lyons. I spend several days each week contracting to area schools through my private practice business, Apex Occupational Therapy PLLC. I am excited about my first product, The Stress Detective Clue Cards, which are used to interview children about their stressors (they sort cards to rate the size of a problem they perceive the item on the card to be). It's very insightful and can help guide treatment. It can also be used for treatment to work on concepts such as what you can and can't control and perspective taking I am silly, optimistic, and creative in my work and personal life. I live with 3 cats and 2 dogs who own my heart. I love gardening, hiking, and arts and crafts. I love learning new things and am currently trying to learn Spanish.
