I grew up in the East Texas area and then went on to attend Stephen F. Austin State University receiving my B.S. in Kinesiology. During the pandemic I moved to Houston to pursue my Doctor of Occupational Therapy at Texas Woman’s University in the Texas Medical Center. When working with children I take a trauma informed and child led approach to therapy sessions. In 2024, I completed certification as a Certified Neuro Specialist through The Neuro Specialist Institute, later achieving an advanced certification in pediatrics as well. I'm currently studying to sit for for a Board Certification in pediatrics and Autism specialist recognition.
I believe every child is capable of amazing and wonderful things when given the right tools and support. In sessions, I often focus on what the child can do, rather than what they can’t and strive to understand the whole child as a person in their own context. I enjoy working with kids who have ASD, genetic conditions, or medically complex conditions, as well as kids who may be having trouble communicating leading to behavioural outbursts.
In my spare time, I enjoys bowling with my husband in leagues, reading memoirs, playing with her dogs and having friends over for board games (my favorite game is Betrayal at the House on the Hill). My favorite color is orange, and I love all things whimsical!
