As an Occupational Therapist, I have worked in a variety of settings over the years, both with pediatrics and adults. Within pediatrics I have worked in schools, in-home with 0-3, clinics and the hospital. I have additional training in sensory integration, autism, vision, Neurodevelopmental Treatment, Myofascial Release, feeding, reflex integration, Therapeutic Listening, and nature based/Contigo approach.
I spent about 10 years working as a traveling therapist in which I was able to gain a wide array of perspectives, but mostly it was through my traveling experiences that I learned the beauty and benefits to wandering. My approach to therapy has always been child directed but I think we often forget how much is gained from a child being able to explore and learn at their own pace.
I'm an outdoors and nature enthusiast. In my free time I enjoy engaging in just about any activity that includes mountains, rivers, streams, valleys, forests, lakes, desert, and ocean. It was my love of the outdoors, wandering, and occupational therapy that bore Wander Outdoors Occupational Therapy where all my favorite things come together!
