Karen Johnson, OTR/L, is an occupational therapist with over 20 years of experience across acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, and outpatient settings, including Duke Health. She is certified as a Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS), Stroke Rehabilitation Specialist (CSRS), and Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS), and is a co-author of peer-reviewed research on traumatic brain injury and health disparities. Karen is passionate about helping clinicians and communities better recognize and address mild cognitive changes, and through Innovative OT NC, LLC she provides education, coaching, and practical resources to support functional cognition and life engagement after neurological and cancer-related diagnoses.
