The Role of Occupational Therapists in the Treatment of Patients with Lymphedema Secondary to Breast Cancer
Passionate about supporting women’s health and wellness across the lifespan—with a special emphasis on maternal health, postpartum recovery, perinatal mental health, and the mother-infant dyad relationship..

Khadijah has pursued a new specialty in maternal and women's health and wellness. She has her own private practice, Full Circle Therapy & Wellness, where she sees perinatal and perimenopause clients, with a particular focus on the women in the fourth trimester. She takes a whole-person, holistic approach to postpartum recovery, addressing pelvic floor function, mental health, home environment preparation, nutrition, movement, pain management, lymphedema/edema management, and sleep hygiene.

She has been lymphedema certified for over 6 years and brings additional expertise in geriatric practice, including cognitive-based dementia care and helping older adults safely age at home. She is pursuing further certification in pelvic floor therapy/health and recently renewed her DCS certification from the Dementia Connection Institute.

An active member of AOTA and of ArizOTA, Khadijah is serving her second term as Vice President in Arizona. She has experience teaching gerontology, phys rehab, advocacy, research, and mental health courses at the OTA, OTD, and PPOTD levels. She also privately works with OTA, MOT/OTD students for fieldwork and capstone mentorship as well as for NBCOT exam prep.

In her spare time, you will either find Khadijah curled up with a good book, volunteering at her church, working out at her local Pilates studio, or traveling to a new state or country with her husband and toddler.
