My name is Tory Lujan (she/her), and I am currently a doctoral student at Northern Arizona University. I am a Tucson native, where I graduated summa cum laude from the University of Arizona's Honor's College with a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education and Rehabilitation and a minor in Psychology, later completing my Master’s degree in Mild-Moderate Disabilities
I have over 10 years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities across the lifespan, including 7 years as a special education teacher serving students with moderate to severe disabilities in K–12 settings. My professional journey has also included roles as a care provider in adult group homes, a foster group home coordinator, and a respite care provider for adolescents with developmental disabilities.
In addition to my background in special education, I have a growing interest in maternal health and supporting families in the postpartum period. No matter the setting, I am committed to promoting equitable and inclusive environments where individuals can thrive. I am excited to collaborate with OTs and professionals who share an interest in community integration, maternal health, and advancing opportunities for underserved populations.
