These sheets are setting-agnostic. The code list covers services billed across outpatient clinics, home health, hospitals, inpatient rehab, skilled nursing, and private practice, so the same reference works whether you are documenting a self-care session, a wheelchair management visit, or a wound care treatment.
Both files are PDFs, so they work printed or on a screen. Practitioners who bill at the end of every visit tend to print the code list and post it where they document. Practitioners who move between sites often keep the PDF on a phone or tablet instead.
The two sheets answer different questions, and it helps to know which one you are reaching for:
OT CPT and 8 Minute Rule — you know what you did and need the right code, or you have a treatment time and need to know how many units it supports.
2026 OT CPT Reference — you are estimating revenue, comparing the relative value of services, or building a case for how a program is staffed.
The 8-minute rule chart is the piece most people use daily. It converts total timed-code minutes into billable units, starting at one unit for 8 to 22 minutes and running through seven units for 98 to 112 minutes.
