What It Measures
The Sensory Profile 2 asks caregivers and teachers about a child's responses to everyday sensory experiences — what they seek out, what they avoid, what bothers them, and what they seem not to notice at all.
Scores come out in three layers. Sensory system scores cover auditory, visual, touch, movement, body position, and oral processing. Behavioural scores cover conduct, social-emotional, and attentional responses. And four sensory pattern scores — Seeking, Avoiding, Sensitivity, and Registration — organise everything according to Dunn's framework, which crosses how much input a nervous system needs to notice something with whether the person actively responds or passively goes along with it.
