Headache Disability Inventory
What It Measures
The Henry Ford Headache Disability Inventory (HDI) was created to measure the functional and emotional impacts of headaches on daily life. This scale was made for users experiencing headaches one or more times a month, and aims to measure that impact at the beginning and end of treatment, to determine how helpful the treatment was.
This 25-question assessment asks participants to answer each questions with either "yes," "sometimes," or "no" and each answer is assigned a point answer where yes=4, sometimes=2, and no=0. To score, the points are totaled and reveal the degree of burden a person is experiencing (mild, moderate, or severe).
