Bio

Alexa received her Master of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from Belmont University in Nashville, TN, in 2023. Prior to that, she spent the past five years working as a pediatric OTA in early intervention, school, and outpatient settings. During graduate school, Alexa played a pivotal role in establishing a nonprofit organization that bridges the gap between accessibility and mobility within the home and community, while also educating the public on the importance of adaptive recreational equipment for individuals with disabilities. Alexa is deeply passionate about supporting individuals with special needs, incorporating animal-assisted therapy, and using assistive technology. She also has experience working with individuals who use Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). Alexa is the owner and a clinician at Elevate Pediatric Therapy, located in Parker, CO. She is certified as a pet therapy team alongside her therapy dog, Koda. Alexa and her family moved from Arkansas to Colorado in 2024
