Bio
Crystal Bennett, OTR/L, CLT, CWT, NLN Expert Clinician- Crystal is a 2002 graduate of College of St. Mary earning her degree in Occupational Therapy. She has worked in many practice areas including outpatient hand therapy, skilled nursing, home health and acute hospital. In 2020, Crystal joined the team at Syracuse Area Health, a critical access hospital in Syracuse Nebraska, and has built a successful and growing lymphedema and wound care practice. She has been passionate about lymphedema and related edema disorders since being introduced to this exciting practice during a Level II clinical and she received her Certified Lymphedema Therapist designation through the Norton School of Lymphatics in 2008. Crystal earned her Wound Therapy Certification through the International Lymphedema and Wound Training Institute in 2020. In 2021, she also received the Lymphedema Therapist Expert Clinician Designation from the National Lymphedema Network demonstrating advanced level skills in 10 lymphedema therapy practice areas. She served as a Nebraska representative for the Lymphedema Treatment Act and represented Nebraska during Lymphedema Lobby Days in Washington D.C., lobbying for insurance coverage for lymphedema. Crystal has completed continuing education courses in breast cancer rehabilitation, oncology rehabilitation, multiple wound care topics, kinesiotaping, fibrosis and soft tissue management, yoga for the rehab professional, Tai Chi, and a variety of hand and upper extremity courses. Crystal is an instructor for The Academy of Lymphatic Studies and teaches Manual Lymphatic Drainage Certification and Advanced Lymphedema Management courses nationally.
