Bio
Dawn Heiderscheidt, has extensive experience in the field. With nearly 10 years of dedicated service, Dawn’s diverse skill set empowers her to navigate the intricate relationship between individual capabilities and environmental factors, ensuring comprehensive and effective care.
Driven by an unwavering commitment to helping individuals achieve independence and enhance their quality of life, Dawn courageously established her own company, Aurora Independence. Through strategic partnerships with local non-medical home health companies, Foundations, and nonprofits, Dawn serves as Program Admin/Lead OT for a CAPABLE program, and runs her own company, while also acting as a Wellness and Prevention Specialist with UUH Outreach. Her visionary leadership has propelled Aurora Independence to the forefront of the industry, offering tailored solutions that foster independence and well-being.
Dawn actively contributes to the advancement of her profession in many ways. She is a District V recorder for the Pennsylvania Occupational Therapy Association (POTA) and also works as a National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) instructor for the esteemed Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS) program. She is also a NARI ( National Association of Remodeling Industry) member. She regularly imparts her knowledge and expertise to aspiring professionals.
Furthermore, Dawn serves as a National Continuing Education Provider, equipping professionals with the skills needed to create accessible and safe living environments for individuals of all ages and abilities which resonates greatly with her background as a teacher.
Dawn firmly believes that enabling independence and improving the home environment is the key to empowering seniors and individuals with disabilities to thrive in their own homes.
