Ella Vanderpool
Bio
My name is Ella Vanderpool, and I am currently completing my final semester as an OTD student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I am honored to be partnered with OT Potential for my OTD capstone project, which seeks to translate the evidence-based AJOT stroke best-practice guidelines into an accessible "menu" of information for OTPs working in stroke rehabilitation. The clinical decision support pages for various stroke phases (acute, subacute, and chronic) each provide a bank of relevant assessments, interventions, goals, and education resources that are based in research. For the public, I also served as the lead author on this treatment guide: Occupational Therapy and Stroke Rehab.
My Capstone Project
As part of an occupational therapy doctoral program in the United States, students spend around 500 hours working on a capstone experience, part of which is a project.
