Bio

Emily is a licensed occupational therapist (OTR/L) in the state of Colorado where she serves as secretary on the executive board of the Occupational Therapy Association of Colorado. Before finding occupational therapy, Emily attended Virginia Commonwealth University where she received her Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science. Emily is a certified exercise physiologist (EP-C) through the American College of Sports Medicine.

Emily made the trek from Virginia to Colorado in 2019, and has called it home ever since. Emily graduated with an MSOT from Colorado State University, where she conducted research on the impact of outdoor occupational therapy camps on children's praxis (motor ideation & planning) and behavioral regulation skills. Emily has experience working with pediatrics, adolescents & young adults, as well as older adults in home, community, and nature-based settings. As a neurodivergent adult (ADHD) herself, she appreciates the opportunity to connect with and assist other neurodiverse individuals. In her free time, Emily enjoys hiking, skiing, woodworking, playing music, and traveling with her two hound dogs.

After conducting research on a nature-based OT camp setting, Emily came across an opportunity to work in a nature-based clinic in the state of Washington where she assisted in leading nature-based OT sessions and camps at a fully immersive outdoor clinic. After returning from this opportunity, Emily joined Colorado State University's Center for Community Partnership team in August of 2022 as a supported education coordinator and occupational therapist where she supports CSU students with their academics, well-being, and everyday life pursuits, as well as provides community occupational therapy services to local organizations, and conducts home health services. Emily, and co-owner Emily Grieb, OTR/L, founded Peaks & Bounds in February of 2023. Peaks & Bounds' mission is to support individuals in accessing and participating in meaningful outdoor activities by empowering disability, neurotype, and/or identity. Peaks & Bounds offer occupational therapist-led services in the outdoors such as; developmental sensory-based camps, peer connection camps, private 1:1 or group OT services, guided nature activities, and more!
