Bio
I have a BA in Elementary, Early Childhood, and Special Education from the University of Iowa, MS in Occupational Therapy from the University of South Dakota, and PhD in Occupational Therapy from Texas Woman’s University. I am AOTA board certified in Pediatrics and a certified nutrition coach. I have advanced training in sensory integration, feeding skills, and pelvic floor dysfunction. I have experience as the owner of an outpatient therapy clinic and I have more than 25 years of experience working with individuals to meet their personal goals and needs. I was on faculty at the University of South Dakota for 10 years and have presented and written articles nationally and internationally, primarily on pediatric and evidence-based practice topics. I recently started a nonprofit organization, Healthy 360, Inc., with the focus of meeting the needs of postnatal moms and their infants through the first year of life. I am the current (2021-2024) chair of American Occupational Therapy Association’s (AOTA’s) Children and Youth Special Interest Section and treasurer of the Iowa Occupational Therapy Association.
