Bio
Hi, I'm Dr. Katherine Lewis! I am an occupational therapist based in Charlotte, NC. My academic journey began at Virginia Tech, where I completed my undergraduate degree in Human Development. Later, I pursued a Doctorate of Occupational Therapy from Virginia Commonwealth University. Over the years, I have gained experience in both pediatric and adult settings. However, my true passion lies in lifestyle optimization, especially concerning mental health and overall well-being.
During my intervention sessions, I take pleasure in integrating concepts of mindfulness, self-awareness, and nervous system regulation in order to develop a comprehensive plan to facilitate engagement in daily life. I firmly believe that engagement in meaningful activities plays a pivotal role in promoting health and well-being for all of us, and work collaboratively with clients to find ways to support that. My ultimate goal is to guide individuals in understanding how they can enhance their lifestyle through health-promoting activities, habits, and routines, catering to their mental, physical, and spiritual well-being.
The mind-body connection holds great significance to me, and I view health as a multifaceted concept. As occupational therapists, we possess unique qualifications to support individuals in achieving their well-being goals. I strive to empower my clients, encouraging them to take control of their daily lives, and develop habits and strategies that align with their needs. Re-engaging in meaningful occupations across all areas of their lives is a key aspect of my therapeutic approach.
