About
I am a mother, wife and experienced OT with experience in medico-legal work, functional capacity evaluations and neuropaediatric work.
Bio
I completed an Occupational Therapy degree in 1989. I first worked as an OT at Ghandi Road Rehabilitation centre where I was involved in setting up a general rehabilitation unit. Since then I has worked in private practice primarily in paediatrics (neurological conditions). I has also worked in general physical rehabilitation, hand therapy, work capacity and medico-legal practise. I have completed a Masters degree in Neuroscience through which I has studied the effectiveness of "block therapy" for children with cerebral palsy. I have completed training as in Ayres Sensory Integration (SCISIT and SIPT), Bobath/NDT (basic and advanced), Prechtl's General Movements Assessment, The CVI Range and more. My areas of interest include outreach, community work and I have been involved in Malamulele Onwards (as a founding Board Member), an NGO that offers services to children with Cerebral Palsy in remote areas of South Africa where I was involved in the organising and running of projects throughout South Africa. I am is passionate about early childhood intervention and happiest treating infants and babies where I can make the most of my experience and skill.
Having been an expert of the High Court for more than 25 years, I have experience in assessing, writing expert reports and giving evidence for both adult and paediatric matters.
