Successful and Schizophrenic, a recent NYTimes opinion article, is a great read and good reminder for OTs about not under-estimating our patients. As you read it, pay attention to  the importance the writer Elyn Saks places on engaging in meaningful work.   

Doctors should urge their patients to develop relationships and engage in meaningful work. They should encourage patients to find their own repertory of techniques to manage their symptoms and aim for a quality of life as they define it.
